GCSE passes in English Language and Maths at grade C or above are required. GCSE Geography at grade C or above is preferable but not essential.
Geography is a subject which engages with the relationship of human populations to each other over space and time and their relationship with their physical environment at a variety of scales from the local to the global.

Students complete an individual investigation which must include data collected in the field. Coursework- 3,000-4,000 words (20% of A Level).
Where can you go? Anywhere! Geography has a wide range of transferable skills which means that geographers are literate and numerate which makes them highly employable. Many geographers have continued to study the subject at university but others have used Geography as a stepping stone to study other subjects such as Geology, Engineering, Planning and Environmental Science. It is valid for different career paths like law, social sciences, advertising, accountancy, or environmental management.
