I would like to introduce myself as the acting year manager for year 9. I work on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, whilst Mrs Etherington takes her maternity leave. I work closely with my colleague Wendy Hirlam, who is year manager for year 9 on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
I have worked at Abbey Grange as a teaching assistant for 5 years, following a long career break to care for my 3 children. Before that I had varied work experience in social services, primary schools and in advocacy work for Save the Children and NCH Action for Children.
I’ve always had astrong drive to improve the mental health of young people and have trained inYouth Mental Health First Aid and am a qualified Mindfulness in Schools teacherfor students aged 11-18.
In my free time I love yoga and walking for exercise and making jewellery to exercise my creative side.
