Mr. Hancock joined Abbey Grange Academy in January 2025, taking up the role of Assistant Principal with responsibility for Care and Conduct. Having worked in education for over 20 years, his career has carved out a unique pathway. Progressing through various key non-teaching pastoral roles, he qualified in his spare time, achieving a first-class honours degree, to become Teacher of Business and Finance. Subsequently, he has held a variety of senior positions, bringing a diverse perspective to leadership. His most recent role was Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for behaviour and safeguarding, in a challenging setting, with an inner-city profile.
Throughout his career, Mr. Hancock has remained a resolute proponent of equitable, inclusive practice and held firm to the key belief that every student has the right to an excellent education, balanced with the responsibility to be the best that they can be. Moreover, that it is the role of the professionals to support the students to be able to achieve this.
