As Principal, Simon Prinsep is responsible for ensuring there is an inclusive and rigorous quality of education and high standards of academic and pastoral provision that enables all pupils to unlock their full potential so that their learning flourishes. On top of this, it also the Principal's responsibility to ensure pupils are safe, know how to keep themselves safe, have plenty of opportunities to enrich their lives, have the chance to nurture any talent and to ensure that they build character spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physical in a positive and disciplined learning environment.
Simon has been in education for 20 years and was recently a Deputy Headteacher at Castleford Academy, an Outstanding academy in Wakefield. He has been a form tutor, a Teacher of English, a Teacher of Media Studies, a Head of Media Studies, a Head of English, an Assistant Headteacher for the Pupil Premium and an Assistant Headteacher responsible for Learning. Before this, he spent several years in industry and has worked as a chef, in engineering and even ran his own film company making educational videos for schools. Simon recently acquired a MA in Education at Leeds Beckett University and has one daughter currently at Abbey Grange and another hopefully attending next year.
